JCO connection in a load balanced environment

Hi all,

We are developing Java Web application that accesses the back end R/3 system using JCo. But the R/3 system has a load balancing infrastructure which directs to the appropriate Application server. Now, during the JCo connection we need to specify the appserver host IP address/name. But since it is accessed through the load balancer, will it work if we give the load balancer hostname as the appserver hostname ? I did not see any parameter like a logon route/string which determines what routing server to connect to.

TIA

Ravi

    Hello Ravi,

    have you looked into the Documentation? In the JavaDocs coming with JCo you find this Function:

    public static JCO.Client createClient(java.lang.String client,

    java.lang.String user,

    java.lang.String passwd,

    java.lang.String lang,

    java.lang.String url)

    Creates an instance of a client connection to a remote SAP system (with load balancing)

    I think that is what you need.

    Regards

    Gregor

    Thanks Gregor, actually the javadoc has it well documented. The JCo.Client has infrastructure to support message server parameter which I guess will work for us.

    Regards
