Truncation in work item text

Hi,

I am facing an issue in task TS00008046 of workflow WS20000378. Recently I modified this task to additionally accommodate sales organization details in its text. The issue is, sometimes work item text is getting truncated.

Work item text field of the task is referencing field WITEXT of table HRS1206 and this field is 120 chracters long. What I have observed is, workitem text is getting trunacted even though the text is less than 120 chracters.

For example, correct text is "There is no article description for item 00010 4500156193 Sales organization 2CN2"

Above text is sometimes appearing as "There is no article description for item 00010 4500156193 Sales org".

In the above text Sales organization is hard coded, hence atleast this should appear in the work item text.

Valuable suggestion would be highly appretiated.

Regards

Balu

@ Enrique : Work item text does not have space to be condensed.

@ Rick : Work item text is not always 120 chars long. In most of the it is 80-100 charc long.

The example i have provided is one of the many instances where text is getting truncated.

A text that has appeared correct previously is getting truncated is some instances * though the step that issued the text is same*

Hi,

Maybe your variables have blank spaces. You should condense it.

Hello Balu Umapathy !

Hope you face this problem at times and not always.

Just refresh the buffers at SWU_OBUF. and also at SBWP : Settings -> Workflow settings -> Refresh organizational environment.

Also check the bindings too.

Hi Suresh,

Thanks for your input.

Can you please care to explain how refreshing buffer can prevent truncation of work item text.

Hello,

I don't think workitem texts can handle variables of 120-char length.

Is that an actual example of a truncation that occurred?

You said it happens sometimes; about how often?

Is the format always the same in the message, as shown above?
