SAP Business Objects Enterprise 3.1 SP3 Integration Kits for SAP Solution

Hi,

I wish to know that what is the requirement for installing the Integration Kits for SAP Solution.

I just installed SAP BOXI 3.1 SP3 on the Redhat Linux Enterprise Server 5, and wish to connect my dashboard (Using Xcelsius 2008 development), Crystal Report, Universe and Webi report which exported into the BOE platform to my SAP BW. Beside that, for some of the report which developed using Crystal Report 2008 will required to connect to SAP eCIBS ABAP function directly.

May i know what is the step for installing the Integration Kits?

I read through the document from help.sap.com for Integration Kits for SAP Solution 3.1 SP3, but it is quite confusing and it talking about SSO on SAP and etc. What is that? I have no any knowledge on SAP architecture currently. In the document also mentioned, after installing Integration Kits we need to redeploy the InfoView and CMC war file.. is this true?

Thank you.

Regards,

CK

Not sure about Linux, you can check the SAP IK guide (Chapter 4).

Once you install SAP IK, it will update the Infoview & CMC war files with all SAP details, so you have to redeploy them again.

For example on both CMC & Infoview login screen you can see SAP in the Authentication dropdown only if you redeploy the war file.

Once the IK install is done you have to setup the server side trust, so that you can create universe using SAP BW.

Below are the steps\details need for SAP IK install.

Download SAP Java Connector 2.1.8 or 2.1.9 (available in SAP market place) and place it under the specified folder (check guide)

Install SAP GUI on server

Get the SAP Server Gateway Host name from Basics team

Get the SAP Server Gateway Service name from Basics

Get the sapmsSIDportnumber/tcp from Basics

Copy saplogon.ini to C:\Windows

then install SAP IK, during the install process you can enter the above details.

Thanks. Useful information. Will try it out.

By the way, during the installation of SAP IK, i did saw that for the service component there are BW Publisher... and others components. Does we need to install all of the components? Or some we can ignore...

Can you briefly let me know that what are the basic components that i MUST install?

My requirement user will view Crystal Report in InfoView (connecting to BW via Universe or SAP ERP system (eCIBS) ABAP function), performing WEBI analysis which utilize the Universe for connecting to the SAP BW source (either InfoCube or BW Query), and viewing dashboard via InfoView (dashboard is connecting to BW and SAP ERP system (eCIBS) ABAP function).

thanks again.

regards.

When you install SAP IK on the server, select 'Server'. Similarly you have install SAP IK on the client machine (on the users workstation), there you have to select 'Client'.

Hi Thanks,

Got some idea on the installation, but if lets say we need to install SAP RFC and SAP JCO SDK into LINUX, where can we find the installer from service market place?

Where is the sapmsSIDport/tc file to be place in the BOXI3.1 server?

I am new to LINUX, and required your kind help.

Thanks.

Regards.
