SAP JAVA Gui fails to load Excel File FM 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE'

Hi All,

I am trying to read an Ecxel File from the Local Machine using the function Module 'ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE'. The program works fine when I am using the Windows GUI, but when it is executed through portal (via JAVA GUI), the function Module raises an Exception 'Upload OLE'. I tried using another function module ''KCD_EXCEL_OLE_TO_INT_CONVERT' which has the same functionality and it also raises the same exception. Is there a JAVA GUI and OLE compadability issue?

Please help! The object will only be used using the JAVA GUI (PORTAL).

Thanks.

Ahmed.

    Hello Ahmed,

this does not work with SAP GUI for Java because it does not include OLE automation. Please keep in mind that SAP GUI for Java is targeting many platforms and there is both low demand and little occasion for platform specific features.

    Best regards

    Rolf-Martin
