Hi Friends,
I Could able to view PDF originals in DIR thru redlining and when I try to save it is storing as "bitmap(.bmp)" file. I try with other workstation like Auto CAD also, but the same.
I defined PDF workstation in DC30 as :
File format : .pdf,.*
MIME type : application/pdf
Define workstation application -> Define workstation application in network = EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL% . This I did for all application types i.e - 1 Display , 2 Change, 3 Print
Define workstation application -> Setup office integration for doc. type, work station and appl. type combination defined Technique= LINK_SERV
Did I miss any thing.
I defined MS word & MS Excel and defined as Define workstation application -> Define workstation application in network =%SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.OUTPLACE%. In this case it is working fine.
I want to understand why PDF and other workstation application couldn't able to save in same format, as it is storing in bitmap format.
Regards,
Sai Krishna
Hi Sai,
ECL viewer does not support redlining function for pdf or word/excel files, hence your issues. For supported file formats, please refer http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/PLM/EAIViewerFile+Formats

Hi Pradeep,
Thanx for the info. Even I tried with Auto CAD, I couldn't able to save to local PC / drive. It is saving in bitmap format (.bmp)
When I tried EAI viewer for PDF, I could able to do all functions except saving.
When I check SAP Library in below link, it is saying we can maintain redlining for PDF in text data.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/c1/1c31a243c711d1893e0000e8323c4f/frameset.htm
2D data
Vector data:
With model character (such as DXF)
With screen character (such as CGM)
With plot character (such as HPGL)
Pixel data (such as TIFF, BMP, JPG)
Text data (such as ASCII, EPS, PDF)
I asked the team before ising PDF as EAI viewer in below thread. After that I implemented.
Can I know how to go about it ?
Regards,
Sai Krishna
