Warnings in QM Usage decision for an Inspection Lot

Hello SAP gurus, I have one topic where you can help me. When you do a Usage decision for an Inspection Lot, if you forget to do the stock postings and save the transaction, SAP is giving a warning to do the stock postings.

Unfortunately there are some situations where I donu2019t get this warning. I cannot define clearly when it works and when it does not. Do you know if there is some customizing or user settings to make SAP give always the warning message?

Thanks in advance

If the UD was accepted, stock will directly moved to unres use as soon as you save the UD. if UD was rejected, then system takes you to the "inspection lot stock " tab to put the stock in block manually. There are some exits to even do this automatically.

At which point, you are getting warning message ?

The warning message usually comes up when no stock posting is planned for the inspection lot via the UD codes. Each UD code has the possibility of assigning an automatic stock posting to the code. Most clients set up an automatic posting for their "A" code. This is not an automatic thing in SAP as suggested by the previous poster. Just because a UD has an accepted valuation doesn't mean it will automatically move the stock. It will only do so if the code was specifically set up to do an automatic posting.

If the code you pick does not have an automatic stock posting assigned, you should get the warning. If you use a code with an auto stock posting behind it, you won't.

If you have configured your system to require plant specific codes, then each selected set code in each plant would need to have auto stock posting set up if desired. Typically most places only have the one acceptance code set up with an automatic stock posting. Others may have a proposal behind it but usually clients want people to look at the stock posting screen and make the a manual decision as to where to post the stock. Of course it is all business dependent.

I'll check in the morning but off the top of my head I think it's QS51?

It is under the basic data area, catalogs, selected sets.

FF,

SInce all my clients used the same way, I misunderstood that it was by SAP itself. Thanks for correcting me. Is this setting comes from :Posting Proposal UD in QS51 - Usage decisions?

In QS51, you have the stock proposal. This is what is used if you click on the proposal button on the UD stock screen. On the same line, two columns over you should find a check box, that column is labelled "Stock screen backgr.". If that is checked on, then whenever that code is selected, the system will assign 100% of the available material to post, to the stock category specific in the stock proposal column.

When this is checked on, and the code is selected, there is no need to even visit the stock posting screen. You can just save the UD.
