setting Fuzziness for TREX

I have read documentation that the fuzziness for the TREX search engine can be manually set between 0 and 1.

I did notice that there is a "fuzzyindex.inf" file in each index folder which is usually generated after a catalog has been replicated to TREX but changing it seems to bear no effect on the flexibility of the fuzziness.

I would be grateful if someone could shed some light as to where this configuration can be done.

Thanks!

    Jason -

I usually set the fuzziness while initially creating the index from the portal. I believe by default the value is 0.7.

    • Hi Jason,

unfortunately I do not knwo how this will behave in a CRM environment. But have you looked through the *.ini files in your TREX installation? In TREXTopology.ini (TREX 6.1) you can set the default fuzziness that is then used for all indices.

On the other hand, CRM (or any other solution) also communicates a fuzziness degree to TREX in every search query. This is located on the CRM side and I do not know if it is configurable.

      Regards,

      Karsten
