Hi Experts,

I am new to SRM MDM Catalog. But I am primarily an MDM Consultant.

I would like to know few things about SRM MDM Catalog.

Is SRM MDM Catalog Server different to that of the traditional MDM Server?

1. Meaning is SRM MDM different from MDM? If yes, How?

2. If SRM MDM and MDM are different systems, then how does SRM connect to MDM? Need a middleware Xi?

3. Or SRM MDM is just one server where you can perform SRM as well as MDM activities ?

Please guide with simple explanations? No links please

Hi,

SRM-MDM Catalog uses NetWeaver MDM. ( MDM Server, Console, Data Manager, Import Manager, Java APi)

SRM-MDM Catalog additionally provides Search UI (WebDynpro Java) and sample repository.

1. Which document to follow initially?

2. What data is maintained in SRM MDM Catalog ? Suppliers + Materials only? and not Customers....?
