Profile and Roles to ESS User in R3

Hi All,

We have SSO configured and created a user in su01 and in IT105, attached the user to a pernr. In the portal, we created a user, by the same name.

The user is able to log in to the portal and see the ESS Overview Screen. When the user clicks on any ESS service, the page does not navigate. As soon as we give SAP_ALL profile to the user in back end, the service link works fine and opens the service.

We have given the permissions to the the user.

The roles attached to the User are:

1. SAP_ESSUSER

2. SAP_ESSUSER_ERP

3. SAP_EMPLOYEE_ERP_13_IN - ESS ERP05 EHP3: Country-specific functions for India

Are there any specific roles / profiles that we need to give to the user, since we can not give the SAP All profile to the end users.

Hi Umang,

1. Go to the PFCG transaction (Role Maintenance).

2. Create copies of the composite role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ERP and all the single roles contained in it. Work with the copies only.

3. Choose the authorization profile S_SERVICE (check on start of external services) and enter the required services in the Program, Transaction, or Function Module Name field.
