is TREX on Windows 2003 Enterprise supported ?

Hello,

I am going to install TREX 6.0 for EP 5.0 SP5 on a windows machine.

In the documentation is says that the TREX is supported on Windows 2000 Adv. server, is it also supported on Windows 2003 Enterprise ?

Thank you,

Carmit.

    Hi Carmit,

    TREX 6.1 - delivered with NetWeaver'04 - is supported for Windows 2003 (32-bit).

TREX 6.0 is supported for the there stated platfroms only.

    regards, Karsten

    • Hi all,

Service Marketplace (SMP) restructuring has made things confusing...fully admitted.

      For EP 5.0:

      use SMP quick-link: /pam50

      For EP 6.0:

      use SMP quick-link: /pam60

      For NetWeaver'04:

      use SMP quick-link: /pam

      And now for TREX:

      - Yes, TREX 6.0 supports Win-2003 with the SPs to TREX 6.0.

      - BUT within an EP 5.0 environment, OS-mixing is at least "depreciated" => I'd stick with the PAM for the respective Portal release and that means Win2000 for TREX.

      - In EP 5.0 PAM it says "Win 2000 Adavnced Server SPx or higher" this answers the "Windows SP4" question, I guess.

      - And forget the "Advanced". Unless you will need the hirher main memory management it is fine to use "Windows Server".

      In easy words:

Migrate to EP 6.0 and feel free to use Win 2003 for TREX 😉

      Cheers,

      Karsten
