I have some reports in which the design requires me to stop the field before all the characters print. In Crystal 2008 Desktop the report stops where I stop the field. Once uploaded to XIR3 (Product: 12.1.0 Enterprise XI R3 SP3), the field no longer keeps within its boundaries and overflows characters on to the next field. Can't be read. I have this happen on several reports. In one case, I even created a formula to truncate the field to say left 25 characters and it still will overflow at times. Any suggestions on how to fix? Is there a patch for this?
Hi Allen,
I've run into this as well. Most of the reports I have are formatted to print in Excel. So columns are pretty close together.
The problem you are seeing is with the ActiveX viewer. If you change viewers in your user options to use either HTML or java the overflow doesn't happen.
It's a pain in the butt and I don't think there is a fix. We noticed this when we upgraded from XI R2 to XI R3.
I prefer the ActiveX viewer because it looks like the viewer in Crystal.
Good luck,
Brian
