While importing universe one of my user getting below error -
"Failed to initialize import/export. Previous Error: Failed to retrieve root universe folder. You may not have permission to view this folder".
User said he is getting error when he clicked on File - Import option (mean user is unable to see the Import universe option).
But when I tried to import using his ID, I can successfully import universe file. Any idea what could be probable cause?
We are in : BO XI 3.1 SP3 on Windows 2003 Server.
Hi Das, you also want to make sure the user is logging on to the same CMS as you did. It is very common that user types in the wrong system name.
Hope this helps.

So, the issue is only on that user machine , right ?
I'm assuming the user is trying to import universe into the Designer, right ?
then try to finf all *.lsi files ont hat user machine and delete them, then let him re-login into designer and try import again.

Yes. The issue is with user machine while trying to import universe using designer. Error appear when user selecting Import from File menu (before Import universe dialog appear). At the same time, he can successfully import universe from another CMS.
Anyway, let me try with your suggestion by deleting lsi file...will post you soon.
We tried to re-logging by cleaning lsi files. But no luck. One strange observation u2013
While user login to our DEV environment and importing universe from designer, error appear. But user can successfully import universe by logging TEST environment from same system using same user id! Any clue?
