Do we need license to use Netweaver Developer Studio on the desktop.

Hi;

We are using portal 7.0 and ecc6.0 and have ess/mss intalled.

If I want to use the NWDS to develop webdynpro for java custom applications and deploy them on the portal.

Can I get the set up for the same free on SDN or some other site.

Do I need any license for installing and using the tool on my desktop to build applications and deploying them on the portal

Please let me know ?

(prior to CE, NWDS 700 is available on the service marketplace (http://service.sap.com/patches u2013 Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group -SAP NetWeaver and complementary products - SAP NETWEAVER - SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 - Entry by Component - Developer Studio - NW DEVELOPER STUDIO 7.00 - Win32 --> download the corresponding SAR file, and extract it using SAPCAR -xvf. Then start the installer you find in it. SAPCAR is also available on the marketplace ))

Since you have licences for ESS / MSS, you won't require a license for NWDS. You can download it for free from the service market place or from SDN.

HI,

You will not get the setup from sdn.

As you have already bought ECC, EP and ESS/MSS business package it will be free for you to download at market place.

Ask the basis person to download it from service market place, there wont be additional cost for it.Then you can install it in your local desktop.

Just make sure you are downloading the correct version and SP level as per the version of EP.
