Hello,

I have worked on several ESS/MSS implementaions based on Webdynpro Java/NWDS/NWDI. Now since SAP is converting all of them to Webdynpro ABAP ,also the new SRM Package is in Webdynpro ABAP. So should I move and learn Webdynpro ABAP or else what are other career options in Webdynpro Java.

I have'nt worked on KM,Collaboration,Composition Environment.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

With the shift of SAP's support from WD JAVA / ABAP to only WD ABAP, it is better to go for WD ABAP. Not only would the FPM be on ABAP, but the fresh developments will be encouraged in WD ABAP. Though the only silver lining for the WDJ developers is the UIs that it provide, like the mobile UIs that are not in WDA.

As a consultant, we should never be technology dependent. The basic frame work of WDA & WDJ is same and ABAP seems to be language that can be easily understood.

Cheers!!!

Well the configuration ie from backend of these iviews would remain the same, only thing is more of backend roles nagivation would be involved, Since there will be no Java based iviews in future, its better to learn the new technology
