Behaviour of a Project with different company codes

Hi Experts,

I have say 4 company codes "CC01 .. CC04".

I created a Project such that top level WBSE is only one & 2nd level WBSE represent each company code.

In this scenario, system asked me to mandatorily enter a company code for top level (standard error message) & I maintained say "CC01"

Various WBSE at various levels are created & they inherited org units from their superior WBSE as desired.

Now, at the execution stage, various WBSE have got cost postings on them & are in REL status.

I got a requirement to furthur drill down one WBSE in company code "CC03" at 6th level.

When I am creating WBSE under this, system is creating WBSE with inherited mask but company code is being taken as "CC01" instead of "CC03" from its parent WBSE.

Also the Project being Investment Project & as the superior is released, the newly created WBSE is getting the status "REL & AUC" automatically. But the AUC is being created in "CC01" company code, because of which I am not able to change the org unit of WBSE in change mode also.

Also I cannot delete the AUC manually in AS02 as the AUC is for an Investment Measure.

Any hints to reslove?

regards

SAP Help says when you create a new WBSE the data from project definition is copied to the WBSE, but whereas you say that before releasing the project, the data from superior WBSE are copied to new WBSE.

Ok Rafi,

Just to clarify,

Lets say we define "01" company code in PD & Top WBSE , create two second level WBSE with "01" & "02" company codes.

If we try to create a third level WBSE under the 2nd level WBSE with "02" company code, which company code should be taken?

SAP Help says, the data will be copied from Project definition.

I did a test in IDES, created a project and top level WBSE for 1000 Company code and created two 2nd level WBSE

with 1000 and 2000 company code. If i create 3rd level WBSE for 2000 company code the system assigns 1000 company code i.e., it copies from project definition.

Yes Rafi,

All WBSE will take the Org units of PD. I also cross checked.

But we can overwrite them manually.

What my user did was (at the time of Project creation) to manually enter all the field values in excel & then copy paste into SAP in WBSE overview screens.

This approach worked out as all the WBSE were in "CRTD" stage then.

But now as the superior WBSE is already released, the new WBSE we are trying to create is automatically getting "REL" & being an Investment Project, AUC is being created in company code "01" (inherited from PD).

The solution as of now seems to be to "remove the investment profile" in the WBSE so that AUC gets deleted & then change the company code of WBSE, Release the WBSE so that new AUC gets created in the new company code required."

Yes, It will happen if you default the IM profile in your project profile. That is why, in my projects, I dont default IM profile in project profile instead of that I use substitution to write the IM profile on the WBSE's. You can also try the same. Write a substitution to set the IM profile, now even if the project/superior WBSE in REL status you can create new WBSE but it will have only REL status so you will be allowed to change the company code. IM profile will be assigned to WBSE during saving of project and then it will create AUC after the IM profile substitution.

Hi,

I could manage to find a Repair (not a solution) by deleting the "Investment Profile" from the WBSE master data & the AUC gets deleted automatically. Now, I can change the company code.

But solution is still pending on "Why the WBSE is inheriting the Org Units from the Top Most WBSE instead of its immediate superior.

Any light is welcome.
