Hi Vinay,

Welcome to the SBO Forum

Which version of SAP are you to project the SAP Project handling capability to your client.

The New version SBO 8.81 has more option included in the Projctect based handling capability.

In reference to the engineering construction there will be Contract,Material Consumption,Labour... and to add a many etc... some of these area are outside the scope of SAP Business one. But an additional development say as customisation can address the requirement.

There are ceratin add-on that can help you. Post your requirement in the SBO Add-on Forum.

Presently I'm using SBO 8.8 patchlevel 16 .

I need to map the client's process in this only.

The areas I must be able to address is

What are the reports they can get from SBO (they are actually using MS Projects for project planning).

As you might be knowing MS Projects can give reports like, timelines based on the present amount of deviation,

deviation in budgets based on the present data.

This is totally isolated one.

Now I want to show that SBO if you can get this data integrated you can view all the information(sales A/Rs, Purchases, bank reconciliations, etc).

Can you help me how to take forward this requiremet on to SBO?

I have defined the project code and name, how to move forward from here?

Hi Vinay,

Are you just looking for in terms of reporting then you can get all the transaction details. As informed there are certain docuemnt where in you cannot include the projects to the transaction.

The path you mention above is the correct setup. This will needed to be inceluded in all the transaction and some form in your version donot have the extended/ enhanced feature as SBO 8.81.

Hi Rakesh.......

Where the projects are required mostly?

In Marketing documents and its sufficiently covered in SAP.

And if Vinay wants he can create UDF and can link projects there also where SAP standard Projects are not there....

Hi Rahul,

I agree with you it, it is very much possible using UDF. But when he considers MS project planning timelines will this be possible.

Hi Vinay,

I agree with Rahul yes very much you can consider project planning with the business transaction if above the scope User defined fields can be added.

The report are included in the Financial > Financial report > Accouting >

Transaction report by projects, General ledgerFinancial > Financial report > Accouting >

Treansaction by projects, General ledger (Click on expanded icon and select the project) , Documents journal (Click on expanded icon and select the project)

Financial > Financial report > Financials > Trail balance and Profit & Loss reports (Click on expanded icon and select the project)

To my previous statement of 8.81. these document have projects included.

Transaction Templates

Recurring Postings

Freight definition

Freight on row

Freight on header

Landed Costs

Initial Quantities

Inventory posting

Inventory revaluation

Payment

Deposit-Check

Deposit- Credit card

Postdated Credit Voucher Deposit

Production Order

Bill of Material

Hi rakesh,

yes what you have said is a perfect way.

I have explored the same with the help of one of my colleague.

I thank rahul also for providing necessary info on this.

Coming to integration part with MS projects that is not finalised but I think it may become necessity since he client is already very well acquainted with it and gained some comfort level for project planning(hope this option is not available in SBO to that extent)

Hi Vinay......

Project is used basically for a transaction comes under a particular category.

Like let say for example a construction company. For them they have project under which they do their construction under which offers or some schemes can be included.

So project is basically used for reporeting under which category this transaction lying......

Hi Vinay.....

You have to define projects in Project Master......

Let's take an example of Building construction company.

When construction company constructs an apartment having no. of flats in it.

It has 2BHK, 3BHK, 1BHK.

So you can have Apartment under which you have different schemes like In this apartment if customer purchase 2BHK then this much facility, if customer purchase 3BHK then this much facility, if customer purchase 1BHK then this much facility like that you can take these schemes under your project category.

And which entering data in SAP you have this project field at header as well as row level.

Just assign this project to that particulat transaction and it gives you the report project wise.

Hope this is enough for you.......

Rahul
