MRP type - Forecast indicator

Former Member

Hi,

my company is using a Z - MRP type which has the following settings:

MRP procedure = D - Material requirements planning

Forecast Indicator = No Forecast

Consump.ind.forecast = G - Total consumption

MRP ind. forecast = G - Total requirements

Even though we have a Forecast Indicator set to "No Forecast", materials with this MRP type are forecasted every month. We then get some issues with requirements that are required.

Does anyone know what settings we should have in order to avoid Forecasting being run on materials with the MRP type above?

Thanks for your input:-)

Br,

Lars

Dear,

Prerequisites: Transaction OMDQ

MRP type with

  • Forecast indicator <> ' ' (that is, for example, * for optional forecast) (PROKZ)

  • MRP indicator of forecast = ' ' (that is, 'Not to be included in planning') (PROOS)

If the MRP indicator = ' ', the forecast requirements should not be involved in the MRP run

However, forecast requirements are only considered if the "MRP indicator of forecast" is set in the MRP type.

Also check the OSS note 369673 .

Hi,

by setting the MRP ind. forecast = ' ' (Not to be included in planning) the forecast can run, but the forecast result is not taken into consideration during planning (MRP run).

Of course, these settings are logical and makes sense to an expert, but we just did not see the link between the settings

Once again, thanks for your input and guidance!
