Control framework & BDC


My question is if some of the SAP screen used control framework technology. Its may not be able to use BDC is this ture or not?

    That is the way that I understand it, yes. I'm sure this has to do with the fact that the controls and their data actually exist only on a person's frontend (since they are ActiveX or JavaBeans). This means that they are never available if a program is running in the background because there is no connection to a frontend.

    This is also why SAP came up with ECatt as a replacement for Catt. ECatt uses SAPGui Scripting. That way it can address control framework controls as well. You might look more into Gui Scripting as a solution if you need to load data into a control.

    Then again maybe there is a BAPI you can call to do the same update. Or if you are trying to update a text editor object, you might be able to call function module SAVE_TEXT. The details of that solution were just discussed in this forum a few days ago.
