Post depreciation run: missing periods in asset explorer

Former Member

Hi all,

i'm trying to post a depreciation run on my company FH01

So far after posting on posting periods 1,2 and 3, i've noticed that in asset explorer under the "Posted values" tab, these periods are missing in the section of "Depreciation posted/planned".

Can someone enlighten me on what i've done wrong?

i've executed the posting in the background and confirmed under transaction SM37 that the processes were done successfully but it does not display likewise under the asset explorer.

Thanks

jazreeel

Hi Jazreeel,

Do these depreciation runs took place before this asset was created?

Hi Bernhard thanks for replying

Nope the assets were created before I posted the depreciation run

However some of the assets acquisition were done just today , would that affect the run ?

Hi Jazreeel,

I know a few examples where this lines in asset explorer under the "Posted values" tab are missing. There have been different reasons: Legacy data transfer, asset was deactivated, shut down, or some change in depr. key.

Please check if the sum of planned and posted depreciation is correct.

Hi

If the asset was created just today and no acquisition is posted to it yet, its logical not to display the periods there

Hi,

When you have created the asset master alone - Depreciation will not be posted to the asset. Depreciation will come into account the day you capitalize the asset and based on the ordinary depreciation start date that is available in Dep.area tab.

Kindly check what is the date that is been updated against the depr. area and if the dep. start date is going to be in the posting period 1,2 and 3 which you have run already... You can do a repeat for these assets alone in AFAB.

First do it with test run and check in asset explorer.

You will not see any posted/planned value till you hv some value in the asset master.

Thank you
