How to create different simulation versions for same project ?

Hello All,

I am trying to create different simulation versions for a single project, but not succeding with this.

FIrst my question is should i create a project intially to create multiple simulaton versions on it?

I have created 2 simulation version keys Z_01 and Z_02 in customizing.

Now i am trying to create different simulation versions on the same project using the above created simulation version keys.

First i created a simulaton version with the version key Z_01 and the Project V/SIM-01.

Now i am trying to create a 2nd simulation version for the Project V/SIM-01 with the simulation key Z_02, but system throws me a error message as "Project V/SIM-01 version Z_01 already exists".

So can any one guide me in creating different simulation versions for a single project.

Thanks and Regards,

SUdarshan

I could not understand the benefits of a Simulation Version after maintaining Version Keys and creating such a version in CJV1 and then using CJV4 to copy it.

Why not maintain a Project Version Operative directly and use Version Keys to increment from the Baseline.

How do you baseline a version in SAP PS?

Hello,

I am trying to create a simulation version through CJV1.

CJV4 is for transfer project (Version to Operative Data, Operative Data to Version and Version to Version)

By transferring the project you end up with a copy of the operative project, which you can modify in the project builder lately.

Sincerely I've never used before CJV1 so I'm not sure of which is the point of using it instead of CJV4 (creating the simulation from scratch?). But I'm quite sure that if you use CJV4 you are going to be able to create as many simulations as you want.

Best regards.

The point is you use CJV1 during your bidding phase where you dont have an operative project, a valid contract ....nothing, just you want to make an estimate.

But CJV4 you use during th execution of project wherein you create version to alter the current plan, due to certain factors like scope change etc....

Sudarshan, why can't you atleast try to use that CJV4 to check whether you are getting the same error with version to version option in CJV4 for Z_01 to Z_02.

hi

check whether simulation version key is defaulted while creating the simulation.

Hello AP,

There are no default values maintained for the Simulation Version.
