Hi,
I am using BPS postable hierarchies. If I put an interval (of say account numbers) in the hierarchy this does not show up on the BPS layout.
It looks like it would show up only if I list each account individually.
Any way around this?
Marc,
Its not practical to build the hierarchy non-programmatically.
I figured another way to do that is to not use the Hieararchy but use Characteristic derivation. eg. grouping by Account Group where Account Group is an attribute of Account. Here I would use the Account Group and Account in the lead columns.
This works well. The problem with this approach however is that you no longer have control of what the initial screen would look like. BPS by default expands to the lowest node. Is there any way to control this?

Hello Anil,
BPS does not support planning on hierarchies with intervals. As you said, you have to include the single values in the hierarchy or create a separate hierarchy for planning. The reason is that the system needs a unique value for each row otherwise it's not possible to store the data.
However, you can still use the hierarchy with intervals for reporting purposes.
