Issues in Knowledge Management..????

Hi all,

I have the following issues in Knowledge Management.

1) There are various areas where I assign users to a particular funtion..for eg..I am adding more users to the subscription list of a folder. When I search for a user using the search function, it displays me his userid but does not give anything in the description..However when I add him to the subscription list above, it shows me his Lastname and Firstname in the description. Is it a bug...???

2) Morever I notice that I am only able to search the users based on the User id and not the first name, last name. department etc.

This would be a major problem for me since my users are classified based on their employee number and it would not be practical for the administrator to remember the employee numbers (around 2000 of them..!!!!) ..the administrator would certianly prefer to search by name or department..are this fields non-searchable...??

4) Are there any audit logs available for folders other than the "Modified date/Modified by"in the folder and the documents ? Can the administrator find out who all have changed rather than just the created and modified parameters.

3) I would like to change the date format of the folders and documents from mm/dd/yy to dd/mm/yy...Is there any place where I can change the parameters ?

Any suggestion on the above issues..

    Hi Rajan,

what release are you using ? In general in EP6.0, you can search for clear text names in the Who is Who.

Re. 3.: this can be changed in the personalized user settings in the portal header.

Re. 4.: Does versioning of documents help for a history who modified documents when ? Folders itself (i.e. the names of it) can not be versioned, only the content.

    Hi Rajan,

Issues 1 & 2 sound like attribute mapping in the LDAP XML. We have made changes to the standard to accomodate different searches and to control the results of a search.

You can find the XML file in System Administration > System Configuration > UM Configfuration > Data Sources.

My assumption is you are on EP6, and using a LDAP as the user persistence.

If you plan to search by Department, make sure there is an index for this attribute.
