Hello everybody,

i tried to install the 90-day trial Version "Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server" on my pc.

[i have installed the JDK 1.4 before installation(it was included in the Web AS Preview installation).]

During the installation of Web AS Preview i retrieved following messages:

PHASE 2004-07-29 17:09:00

Prepare the installation program.

Notice: first i've installed the SAP Web Application Server 6.20 Test Suite on the pc (just to test adaptive RFC-models)

The 6.20 Installation was complete successfull and runs without problems.

Hi Erich,

i'm not quite sure if the installation script uses this, but it's worth a try: Open a DOS console and type the "set" command. If there's a JAVA_HOME variable pointing to C:/WINDOWS, replace it with the entry to your newly created JDK directory (should be something like C:\j2sdkxxx\).

Hello Stefan,

thank you for yor help...

but after the "set"-command there is no JAVA_HOME variable.

But now a basic question:

Is it possible to install the "Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server" AND the "SAP Web Application Server 6.20 Test Suite" on a single pc ???

When the answer is yes: which must i install first ?

Do you know a helpfile that describes a installation of both ?

best regards

Hi Erich,

please open a DOS console and type "java -version". If java.exe isn't known, edit your path-variable.

"Is it possible to install the "Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server" AND the "SAP Web Application Server 6.20 Test Suite" on a single pc ???"

Sorry, i don't know this, try to search SAP help (help.sap.com). Is it necessary for you to keep a 6.20 test suite? The 6.40 Sneak Preview should have all features of 6.20.

Hello Stefan,

thanks again for your help.

I have set the path-variable for JAVA_HOME.

That's ok now.

But the other errors are coming again:

Prepare the installation program.

Do you know what to do in this case ?

Hi Erich,

hmm, maybe there is a problem with entries made by the 6.20 installation process in your "%windir%/system32/drivers/etc/services" file. Copy the file and remove the "sapmsJ2E" entry. But i'm not at all sure, if this will help you...

Hello Stefan,

in a Posting from "Abdul Razack" from May 12, 2004

i found a Hint to the Warnings.

He wrote:

"Add the following to the services file if it does not already exist: sapmsJ2E 3601/tcp "

I have done this and it helps. 2 Warnings disappear.

But the error comes up again:

ERROR 2004-08-03 12:59:21

CJS-00081 Assertion failed: in function InstallationScript_62() { var installer = new Installer(); var kdb = new KeyDB(); var context = new Context(); var gui = new Gui();

Do you have an idea what Error: CJS-00081 Assertion failed means ???

Thanks for your help again !
