Display EP5-XML Forms in EP6

Hi,

We would like to display our custom EP5 News (once created as XML Forms Project on EP5 SP4) on an EP6-System.

Therefore we copied the xml-files to a repository on the new system.

Unfortunately the news are not displayed when using the km.navigation with layout set NewsBrowser.

Probably this is due to the fact, that the copied xml-files have no resourcetype (which was introduced with EP5 SP5).

We tried to add a ResourceRenderItem-form to the old forms-project or to create a new EP6 project with the same data scheme, but without success.

The only way we can show the news is to use a default km.navigation and a corresponding XSLT-filter. This works fine, but is not very user-friendly...

Do you have an idea, how we can display these "old" news on EP 6?

Thanks,

Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

unfortunately, it is not possible to display/edit the "old" news items created by the projects KMNews and

KMFaqs (file extension *.kmnews) with the km.navigation iView.

The reason is, that the content (data of the files)

of the *.kmnews are completeley different of the content

of the *.xml files. So you cannot use them with the

    km.navigation iView.

Since EP50 SP5 it is strongly recommended to use

the "new" XMLForms item (with file extension *.xml)

with the flexUI iView, because you have a lot of advantages:

    - MUCH more performance (with the old *.kmnews there are

massive performance problems with more than 30 news

    items in one folder)

    - Definition of commands in the flexUI

So I would say that you create your news items "new".

Maybe you can open a EditForm for every news item,

paste the Text into the input fields and then save them.

    With kind regards
