Car rental example - Netweaver Sneak Preview

Hi,

I am new to Netweaver / SAP. I have just started with the Tutorials, which went fine so far.

However, I've got a question: When I try to create the datasource for the Car Rental Example, I have got some problems.

a) When I create the datsource I am not sure which drivers to use. The example seems to be based on SAPDB, while the Netweaver Sneak Preview comes with SQL Server. I have imported the SQL Server Drivers, and also created a datatsource based on the existing datasources (copy and paste).

b) I also have a conflict. When I create a datasource and then create the alias in Netweaver studio (as described), I get the info at deployment time that the datasource already exists.

c) If I do not define the DS, the example fails with a datasource not found error.

Has someboy a hint for me?

Hi,

a) There is no sneak preview that comes with MS SQL Server as this would be a license problem for us. The original Sneak Preview comes with SAPDB/MaxDB. There is a portal preview that works with SQL Server. I'm sorry for this confusion, we are already working on having a single webAS sneak preview version.

b) Once the installation is done, there is a DB already present and maybe your DataSource too. Please watch this point again.

c) Iguess you just have the wrong version where for some reason the example doesn't work.
