Java toolset or Web Dynpro toolset?

Hi there, i'm new to sap netweaver, i reviewing the developer studio can somebody please clear me when should i use Web Dynpro and when should i use the java toolset, or could i make an application with both?

    Hi Jose,

    the Web Dynpro perspective will be sufficient (and recommended to use) as long as you don't have to add your own packages/classes to a WD project for example.

    Web Dynpro application development is mostly declarative and model driven, the tools you are working with manipulate a metamodel actually and the Java classes are generated based on the information of this model.

    This is also the case for other perspectives like Dictionary, J2EE and Web Services.

    For some types of resources (like Simple Types in a Dictionary project) there aren't any classes generated, so you can't edit them with the Java perspective.
