Restart Process Chains

Former Member

I created a process chain that has 3 text file master data loads using the LOADING process type on version BW 3.0B. If I delete the text file for one of the loads, the load will fail and I would like to restart the load from the failure point. When I go to the view log mode, I do not to see the option to restart for the failed load when I right click on it. I checked the LOADING process type and "repairable" is not checked off. I can't modify this since it's a SAP entry. I copied the LOADING process type and named it as Z_LOADING. I checked "repairable" on Z_LOADING. I changed all 3 data loads to Z_LOADING. The problem with Z_LOADING is that it will execute the infopackage succesfully but it won't proceed to the next process. I checked the chain log and it says the it ended with a status of "undefined". Please let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.

Raymond,

Unless it is very critical text, have all your text Proc Chains have the "both" option to go to the next load meaning t he next infopackage load will execute even if t the last one terminated. I dont see why this wouldnt work. In your case, it seems to me that the problem was too many dialog processes in your BW Client. Try to activate and schedule the process chain again.
