Change Assignment-Block/View Description

Hello experts,

I need to change the despription of a Z-View. The view is part of a standard overview page (component usage). At the moment a technical description appear like //ComponentUsageName.Z-Komponent.WindowName

Do you know any possibility to replace this technical description with an OTR text?

I already tried to redefine the interface methode IF_BSP_WD_HISTORY_STATE_DESCR~GET_STATE_DESCRIPTION.

Obviously is this just working for work areas. SAP confirmed that (OSS Note).

Can anybody help me please?

Hi Jürgen,

IF_BSP_WD_HISTORY_STATE_DESCR~GET_STATE_DESCRIPTION should be the right place.

Try it very simple with:

description = 'Test-Description Jürgen'.

If this works you could implement your own logic.

I already tried it out before opening this thread.

in CRM 7.0 the method you mentioned dosn't work for views just for work areas.

I opened a SAP Note and the SAP confirmed that.

Any other solutions?

Hi Jürgen,

i developed some custom assignment-blocks.

In every case i added the description in the UI configuration of the standard overview-page where i added my assignmentblock.

I had to do this UI configuration for each language but it worked.

Maybe this is also a solution for you?
