Creating Histogram of the BW Query Results

I am researching a method of creating Statistical Reports on BW Reports without using any 3rd party tool.

It seems to me that Query Designer does not have any such functions.

Example I want to Create a Histogram and Graph the Frequency of a Key Figures. # of Sales Orders by # of Sales Persons.

This can be easily done using Excel's Add-in "Data-Analysis" plus Some VB code.

But major issue is Delivering this kind of design to the 2000+ Users will require that all users have MS Excels with ADD-INS etc.

Can this be done on Web Application Designer. Any Example how this kind of applications can be built on using WEB-TEMPLATEs. Any Experince of using BW Report's data and process them using Java Application to do statistical functions and then create Chart on the Result set.

Any idea or Experince of implementing Simple statistical functions on BW Reports.

I have found that in Web Template have Chart Type HISTOGRAM. This is not only chart type but it also does statistical frequency counting before creating a Chart.

This is a standard feature in BW 3.0B and works well.

I was not able to do this in BEX or Update rule etc in BW 3.0B. Webtemplate did the magic.

Hello Pankaj,

please have a look at the data mining functionality (now part of APD in SAP BW 3.5), which allows you to do statistical analysis. You can find information on APD in the online help and on the Service Marketplace.
