what would 16 GB RAM and 2 dual core CPUs on a physical host convert to a VMwae VM in terms of RAM and CPU? I want to get same performance that i get right now on my physical machine? Would it be more or less or same ? Any kind of comparison matrix ?
thanks

Hi rajivshekhar,
it is not possible to answer this question in a correct way.
In VMWare you have an RAM Overhead per VM of ~200MB for the VM itself.
The maximum possible count of CPUs per VM is 8 (if having the greatest VM License).
The newest processer generations (AMD Opteron and Intel Xeon) have new instructions for improved memory management.
What is the background of your question? Moving your system from bare metal 16GB 2x2 CPUs to VM?
Kind regards
Manuel
