Make Global Workbook Variant as Default for all users

Hi Gurus,

Is it possible to make a global workbook variant as default for all users? We have created a global workbook variant and want this variant to be set as "Default" when every user executes it. Though we have the "Set as Default" checkbox set, it defaults only on the user creating the variant. Every user needs to pick the variant from the list and set it as "default" individually. Is there an easier way to set it up across all users?

We tried personalizing certain variables but personalizing variables do not seem to work on Workbooks. The personalized variables are considered fine on Queries, but on Workbooks they are not considered. Is this true?
