Hi,

If material requirements planning is carried out at plant level, the system

adds together available stocks from all of the individual storage locations

to determine shortages.

The following prerequisites must have been fulfilled in order to carry out

requirements planning for a plant:

Requirements planning for the corresponding plant must be activated

in Customizing for Materials Management under Consumption-Based

Planningu2192 Planningu2192 Activate Material Requirements Planning.

The plant parameters for the corresponding plant must be activated

in Customizing for Materials Management under Consumption-Based

Planningu2192 Plant Parametersu2192 Carry Out Overall Maintenance of Plant

Parameters.

In the material master record, you have to maintain the MRP data of

the materials that are subject to automatic planning.

Note: Automatically planned materials are not assigned the

material type ND (= not planned).

Thanks for the info SRK, however I need to know the MRP and Reorder Point Planning execution steps in SAP. I have done the required activation and other basic setting in SPRO.

I also created a Material with MRP views 1,2,3. One issue I an facing is when I run MRP, Planned Orders are created instead of Purchase Requisitions despite option 1 (create PR) selected on the selection screen.

I need to know the required data to put in for MRP and Reorder Point planning and then what are the right steps to proceed for MRP Run.

Lucky,

You have already performed the standard steps if you have successfully gotten your proposal (planned order). Execution steps are dependent on what you are trying to accomplish, there are no 'universal' steps.

If you want a material to generate Purchase Requisitions, then you should categorize it as such in the Material Master. Procurement type "F", MRP2 tab of the Material master (MM02).

Value to put in Reorder point (MRP1 Tab) s dependent upon how much you wish to keep in stock. You should have entered an MRP type that is consumption based, but which also meets your business requirements.

Refer to http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/MMCBPCBP/MMCBPCBP.pdf for a nice overview of the whole process.

Lucky,

Can you please tell what is the difference between CBP with MRP and with Reorder Order Point Planning.

Did you read the document I posted earlier? Is there something in this doc that is unclear?

All configuration for Consumption based planning, and other useful MM topics, is included in the following link

Hi there

Maintain the Plant Parameter under CBP (OM18)

Activate the Plant for MRP(OMDU)

maintain the MRP views in material master

MRP type should be VB

ROP is mandatory

Lot size- FX, EX or HB you can use

MRP Controller is mandatory

P group and Schd Margin Key is mandatory

Safety Stock ( it is not mandatory) it is used for the unexpected consumbtion during the RLT

ROP= Saferty Stock+ (RLT* Daily Usage)

RLT=GR processing time+ Del Time+Purchasing processing time

Hope it helps

Hi,

In MRP view, you have to maintain reorder level and MRP can be lets say VB for reorder type of MRP.
