BEx Analyzer Query View Variable Prompt (7 vs 3x)

Hello,

I have created a view on top of a BEx Analyzer Query. When this view is executed in Analyze 3.x it does not prompt for variable input, when this query is executed in Analyzer 7 it does present the variable input screen.

What is the behavior supposed to be? Did the query view variable screen popping change between 3.5 and 7.0?

Hi Nick

Please check the web templates you are using for the reporting - rscustv21 transaction

If the Adhoc reporting uses a template defined and the template has the option VARIABLE_SCREEN option not checked, it will not display the variable screen unless there are mandatory parameters

Also check another parameter - RESET_VARIABLE_VALUES. If this is not checked, the view will display results with previously executed values

Check if one of them is causing the issue

Hi Nick Bertz,

This behaviour happens when You have created View using Bex 3.xxx and want to execute it in Bex 3.xxx then it will gives you the result.

However, that view will not be useful in Bex 7.xxx and so, it will give you promt screen to input Variables Input while execution.
