TLN is invisible in portal dev system

Hi All,

We are facing the issues with Top Level Navigation

visibility on EPD landscape once after portal synch-up and cache clear under System Admin.

The issue is only happening on Portal Dev System and it is working fine

in other landscapes.

Kindly help to investigate and please let us know if you require more

detailed info on this issue.

Yes, we have federation enabled in our portal.

Yes, we already did the Federation Cache clear and it does works. But the thing here is, whenever i do cache clear it works fine however if i restart the system then i open the dev portal URL then TLN is getting invisible.

We are following this step atleast 5 times in a day and we just need a permanent solution and hence i came in here.

Hi Vijaykumar,

Please check the federation cache validity period.

Go to System Administration u2013> System Configuration u2013> Service Configuration.

Navigate to the com.sap.portal.ivs.global.gpcache application.

Edit the FederatedPortalCache service.

maxCacheSize=10000

maxValidityPeriodInSec = 100000

cachePersistency=true

Set this, clear your federation cache and check again.

Thanks for your reply and yeah it is strange becasue very few users are facing this issue in Dev where as it is working fine for other.

We did not change anything on the TLN .PAR file.

We are having super admin access to Dev System (only 3 members are having this super admin access) eventhough it is coming for those who have access as super admin also the TLN is getting missed.

We have upgraded our EP to new version and did the synch up of all portals as well.

I will follow the instructions given by you like deploying TLN .PAR file from other system and will update you the status.

just a wild guess as you said only few users are facing this issue while others can see it.

If you have more than one server node and load balancer routes request to either of it based on its availability,TLN might be showing up on one while not on other.

You can, as said earlier, upload TLN par from Q/P to D or you can also give PCD cache clearance a try using PCD cache from Sys Admin -> Support -> Support Desk - > PCD Administration -> Release Cache

Hi Vijay,

Did you change anything in TLN par application ??

Is TLN not coming for all users in Dev or only for few users ??

If its coming for admin and you are using custom desktop for others then for the time being use default desktop for all.

If your EP version are same in all landscapes then copy the TLN par from other landscape and deploy it

to Dev from NWDS only.

Hi Vijay,

Strange that it didnt show the TLN. In the log, it shows some references to TLN. Try troubleshooting it as per : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/RestoringDefaultFramework+Page
