Parameter dropdown choices are empty

Hi,

I previously posted my issue in another forum and have been redirected here after further explaining the problem.

The problem is that parameter fields with a list of predefined values to choose from are always empty, which means that you cannot make any selection.

Check screenshots here:

Full topic:

Application: CR 2008 (originally experienced issue in CR2008 .NET report viewing component)

Can you give me any hints to fix that issue? The problem is that the issue occurs on one of our customers' computers, and thus we have limited possibilites to debug the problem. Usually the customer wouldn't use the CR2008 designer, but we installed it (were told to) in order to show that the issue is not limited to the report viewing application.

Best regards,

Florian

Hi Dear,

-->first verify the database connection

-->check the field on which you have made parameter

-->Check whether parameter is static or dynamic

-->Static parameter will not come in Drop down List.

if you want the parameter in DropDown list then make it Dynamic.

I m sure it will come

Thanks

Obaid

The choices in the dropdown are not loaded from the database.

-->Static parameter will not come in Drop down List.

Why not? With "static" parameter you mean that the list of values to choose from is defined at design time? If so, these vales are certainly shown in the drop down list, it works for a few thousand customers

It's just this one customer we have problems with, and it never happened before.

If the report runs properly on other computers, then it sounds like your customer has a problem with that computer that they need to resolve.

To me it sounds like there is a bug in the CR components that occurs under special circumstances. Saying that there is a problem with his computer is not too helpful (especially since we have no clue whatsoever where to look for a problem).

So if you cannot give any further advice, is opening a paid support case our only option?

Sorry that is all I have, and I stand by what I said. If the report works elsewhere, then it is at that computer-something is different or missing in the softahere installl or the links.
