SUP Blackberry Localization

Dear community,

I am currently trying to perform localization for my Mobile Apps. The .properties files can be created and the preview works fine, too. Still, when I try to start the simulator, I always get the message "The locale "Japanese" that contains the basic language of locale "Japanese (Japan)" must be included.".

I can still start the application with the default language settings, but the language support does not work...

Has anyone experienced anything similar or has suggestions? Are there files missing or did I forget to include any library or source file? I was somehow hoping it would simply work like this...

Thank you in advance!

Best regards,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I guess you try to add a locale with language "Japanese" and country "Japan". You have to add another locale first with language "Japanese" (and no country). The error message is clear but you only realize this when you know how to resolve this issue.

Hi Pierre,

yeah, if you know it's always easy I guess =D It works now, thank you very much!

How come though? Does that mean, that I need to add a language without the country and then I could "alter" that language for different countries by adding languages with countries?

Thank you very much for the quick reply,

Jenny

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. I had the same issue but my contact at Sybase told me what to do.

The tool should add the basic locale automatically to avoid this. Maybe in a future version.

Pierre
