SolMan_setup steps to run!

Hi ALL!

I installed SOLUTION MANAGER 7.0 EHP1

And as I undersnand I need post instllation steps..

Could you explain clearly all steps needed to run transuction SOLMAN_SETUP correctly?

When I try to create Administrator in Solution Manager Iniatial Configuration I get error. This erorr describes in

Note 1236420 - Automatic role generation from templates

I try to download Support Package SAPKB70103 to resolved this problem..

But I cant do it. As I understand I need configure Maintenance Optimizerto download this update..

How we resolved our problem to configure SAP Solution Manager?

I need configure remoteconnect to SAP befor run transuction SOLMAN_SETUP or Not?

By the documentation after installation I need:

1. Check system users

2. Download and install SAP Solution Manager License

3. Apply Latest Kernel and Support Package Stacks (I have DVD with Support Package Stacks 23)

After this action I can run transuction SOLMAN_SETUP ?

Hello Andrey

In solman_setup please complete the initial and basic configuration. Be watchful which doing the basic configuration as it will also install the central correction note.

This should be sufficient enough for the managing system setup.

Later you can perform the managed system for all the systems connected to the solution manager system.

Hi Amit!

But I can not complete initial configuration... and basic configuration

When I create SOLMAN_ADMIN user (step 1, Initial configuration) I get error massage and I can not create any user in this form..

See SAP NOTE 1236420 I think this is about my problem.. But I can undestand my steps to resolved this problem...

If possible anybody say me step by step what I need doin to resolved this problem.. and complete initial configuration..

Hi Andrey

If note 1236420 is the issue that is stopping you you can install the note via SNOTE and then execute solman_setup agian.

Implementing the note should resolve the error that you are facing.

To install the note via SNOTE as I understand I need remote connect to SAP or other configurated connection.

Am I right?

Hi Andrey

Yes you would need a connection to SAP. Typically the RFC SAPOSS should be working.

Else you can download the note using Download Manager and then install it via SNOTE by uploading it.

I will try to do it tomorrow.

I faced with SAP product first time.. and I have not all information about simple action with Solution Manager..

Sap connect Configuration it's my next step:)) I try to download Note and try to install it with SNOTE transaction

hello, before you install note try to copy the DDIC user to a new users X that X user can be used as the administrator user for all configuration (initial & configuration)
