ECM - effective date not in budget period

Former Member

Hello,

We would liek to have the Budget period defined from March 2011 to February 2012, so that the BUdget Units will be created as of 1st of March.

However we want to pay the salary increase as January 2011 (retroactively). The effective date is therefore no more included in the budget period and when going in the portal, the message appears that there is not budget for this person in January 2011...

Do you have any idea how we can go around this?

Thanks

Lucas

HI Lucas, you typically have to setup the budget period to include the effective date of the payment. This is right from the spro documentation when doing budget period config:

SAP recommends that you set up your budget periods to include the actual payment date. For example, if you plan on paying out the bonus for calendar year 2003 on March 31, 2004, your 2003 budget period should be defined as 01/01/2003 - 03/31/2004, or as 04/01/2003 - 03/31/2004.

If you must bypass with your setup, i think your only option is doing an enhancement within the ECM Planning webdynpro to suppress the error.
