Stuck while installing Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1

Dear Experts,

I was trying to install Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 using SAPInst (Installation Master IM_WINDOWS_X86_64) but was stuck during the "starting instance" phase. I checked on SAP MMC and I found out that the Dispatcher was being started but stopped after 20-30sec.

Does anyone know what went wrong?

regards,

Abraham

    To be more precise, the following message appear at the bottom of the installation master screen.

    "Instance SOL/DVEBMGS01 reached state UNKNOWN after state STARTING. giving up"

    Then I opened up this file, "dev_disp" located in C:\usr\sap\SOL\DVEBMGS01\work, and found out this warning message,

    • WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 5 seconds

    ***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c 5529]

    Please help.

    regards,

    Abraham

      what is the password of SAPJSF? in previous post you mentioned password as "password1". does it your master password? master password means the password which you give while you give parameters for installation.

      reset the SAPJSF's password to master password. ensure it is not locked before you retry the step.

    Thanks guys,

    I solved the problem. This is due to the Jlaunch.exe could start due to the incompatibility with Windows server 2008 R2. However, after upgrade with the latest Kernel patch files, and it worked.
