Values of BW-Hierarchy-Nodes in BPS

in the bw i have the two characteristics 0cs_group and 0cs_item (each with its own hierarchy with about 10 levels).

When a query (containing the characteristic with its hierarchy) is started the logic of BW aggregates the children to its "father-node".

But when you select only the "father-node" without showing the hierarchy the BW doesn't have the children to make this aggregation, so that the value "0" is shown for the "father-node".

For entering Data into the cube i use the manual planning-function of bps.

A single element of 0cs_group is shown in the headline.

The positions in the layout will then only show "0" for every element of the 0cs_item-hierarchy. But it should show the aggregated values of the children of the selected element of 0cs_group ("father-node").

What i am looking for is a function that forces the BW to aggregate the childrens values and write this value into the "father-node" in the cube.

I would be pleased if anybody could give me an answer soon.

    Hello Patrick,

in general you should use a characteristic relationship in order to derive the group from the item (you level would contain item only + the CS item hierarchy).
