Error while perfoming ERP upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 EHP4

Hi,

While performing ERP upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 EHP4, it is prompted for customer reserver Z1 DVD mount point.

Could you please suggest how to proceed further on this ?

This is an IDES system and i think i can't get the DVD from SAPNET for Z1 as this is being customer reserver language.

If i need to skip this point (i am currently at configuration phase), how do i skip ?

i think we can.. the note 164244 no more exists. please check again and suggest .. i am already at configuration phase and i just think IDES is like an another system and why do you think we can't upgrade at all ?

Read the Reply from Markus for reason ..Also SAP will not recommned as there is no gurranty if all scenarios (Master Data) will work or not.

Because:

- is an MDMP system (more than one codepage used, see transaction SMLT), MDMP is no more supported under ERP 6.0 EHP4 so you would need to do a combined Upgrade and Unicode migration if you would upgrade, just running the upgrade will fail. The first problem you encounter is already the Z1 language.

- contains an IDES component (IDES_XYZ) for which you have no upgrade package available

- is customized for 4.x, it's very unlikely, that the configured processes will work

IDES should only be operated as a seperate installation. Each new release requires a new installation!

We do not recommend to upgrade an existing IDES systems. This is the only way to guarantee the full functionality of a tested demo system!

IDES system can't be upgraded, they contain components and languages that are not released in the upgrade package.
