Premium forum user?

I just noticed a 'test' user with the tag: Premium Forum user. And that triggered me somehow.

In my view Premium User means there is money involved as money grants you privileges common users don't have. Maybe it's just some testing from SAP's side but now i just can't get rid of the thought that there will be some kind of a premium program in the future and that in essence premium users pay to use the forum and get solutions provided by 'volunteers' a.k.a. dedicated forum users like Thomas, Julius, Matt and numerous others.

Somehow that doesn't sound right to me. And maybe i'm just seeing things that aren't there (yet). But are there any plans going to that direction?

Hi everyone,

I got confirmation that this is a bug, the icon was removed last year but in some instances it is still showing. IT is looking into it and will remove all the remaining icons.

Thank you for reporting this to us,

Laure

Hi Maen,

By any chance, do you remember where you saw this mention of a premium forum user? As Julius said, the program was discontinued and all such mentions should have been removed from SCN.

You can also send me a screenshot, my contact is available in my business card.

Thanks!

Hi Laure,

I can see one premuim forum user here:

-> Idit Herzog

And for the pay-per-use access to SCN: HTTP Status Code 402 (http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html) Combines also well with 406, 412, 416 and 417

Thank you guys.

At first I thought this was just the Test & Playground forum, which I would understand. But it seems not. Thanks Tobias for sending the link to the TechEd forum, that way I have a screenshot and I'm addressing this internally now. I know they removed this badge from the SCN pages but it seems they need to do another check.

I'm not very familiar with the "late" subscription program overall, but will keep you updated on this.

I believe that they stopped the global conscription program and decentralized it to something negotiable with your local account manager.

Perhaps those account managers have admin access to SAP's Active Directory and are clicking around just to see what happens....

Well, if you´re ready to pay, we could create something for you to pay for.

I can draw very well...

This content is visible only to Premium Users

This is why a Gold Premium access totally boosted my career.

Actually it is so top secret that even premium users are no longer allowed to know that they once were ones and the content has been made transparent.

Sounds like the trick to hide ABAP code.

You mean you don't have to pay to be part of SCN?

I strongly assume that this "dforum 1" user (and a few others) are test users by SCN developers and admins.

Their threads used to be common place in the T&P forum, nowadays they stick out much more, for some reason.

Nope, it a legacy thing from the NSP subscription program. So it is almost obsolete now, but that it is possible to give threads a "quality level" to make it shine is not obsolete

Cheers,
