Hi all,
I am new to Max DB.
We are in the process of creating a standby DB for our Live cache system.
We have backed up our production database & binaries.
Resotored all the data to the DR system, created the users & group, set the file permissions and set the environment variables for the users. Now, while trying to create the database using the command> dbmcli db_create <dbname> <DBUSER>,<DBPASSWORD> which I believe is the very first command , I get the following error
\"Error! Connection failed to node (local) for database (no dbname) "
Please let me know if I have to do something else before I try to create the database.
Environment:
OS : HP-UX ruemdlcd B.11.31 U ia64 1783432881 unlimited-user license
DB:
dbmcli>version
OK
version,os,dbroot,logon,code,swap
"7.7.04","UNIX","/sapdb/LCP/db",True,ASCII,1
Thank You,
Salman Qayyum

Backing up and restoring a database on filesystem level is an supported procedure, it works technically but it's not the recommended way of doing copies.
Did you also backup (and restore)
/usr/spool/sql
/etc/opt/sdb
/var/lib/sdb
