Process chains not getting executed

Former Member

Hi All,

I have a situation where the process chains are not getting executed automatically. I could not find any dumps in ST22. Even triggering the process chains to run immediately is not working. I have to manually carry out each step in the chain. Can anyone suggest a probable solution or if you have faced any similar situation. We have month end data load from tomorrow and if the problem is not solved data is to be loaded manually which is pretty time consuming.

Please advice.

Thanks in advance,

Sananda

I have tried triggering the process chains with immediate option in change selections. But it was not working. Then while activating and scheduling, i changed the server name. I mean there was a server name already specified and i just removed it and scheduled without mentioning any server. After that the process chains started executing. Is this a coincidence or the server could be a reason?

Thanks,

Hi,

This is a server problem. each time when you execute a chain it is taking the default application server.

And if the load on the application server is high it will not be able to run any new jobs.

when u remove the server name and execute it....system will randomly check for any available application sever and pick one, which ever is experiencing the less load at that point in time

In our project we have a seperate server group called "BATCH LOAD" which is specifically used for running the BW loads.

Anyways, your issue is resolved right?

Sudheer.

Hi,

Was the chain created and activated properly, try activating the chain once again, if there is an issue with any of the variants the process chian will not get activated and throw and error.

If this is not the case and if you are able to activate the process chain successfully, open the start variant and change the settings.

Right click on the start variant -> Select direct scheduling option.-> press Change selection button

Select immediate button and press enter. Now come back save the start variant and activate the chain once again.

Schedule the chain and it should run right away. Monitor the logs.

Hi,

is the job scheduled, but not executed?

Perhaps the process chain is scheduled to run on a specific server and this server is not existing anymore (or has ho BTC).

Hi,

1. Check if your User ID has the Authorization to execute the Process Chain. If not, kindly get that first.

2. Or, Try to copy the chain and create a new chain & then try executing it. Use the immediate execution mode in the Start step.

3. Or, Check if some other user id (background user) is required to run the chain.

4. Or, Activate the chain once again & then try executing it.

Hi,

I have authorization. I have executed the process chains before also. And none of the process chains are running. It has simply stopped executing. Even trigerring to run immediately is not working.

Thanks,
