Handling of Source Code in Forum

Hi,

Often I see source code in an append which very difficult to read, because of the way SDN massages the code. For example:

IF myVar IS NOT INITIAL.

CLEAR myVar.

today = sy-datum.

ENDIF.

What I found out, is that there is also a sequence to mark code inside appends. It <b>does not</b> have a nice button next to the Bold, Italics or Underline, but it still works. Just use code sequences.
...
For example:

IF myVar IS NOT INITIAL.
  CLEAR myVar.
  today = sy-datum.
ENDIF.

Unfortunately I still have a number of minor problems with this. Specifically the amount of leading/trailing whitespace, the use of Java syntax highlighting, slightly large font and the fact that cut-and-paste does not work into notepad. I complained already loudly. Maybe some minor improvements will be made one day.

    Excellent to know I tried [_IMG_] as well for another post but no luck - any other hidden tags available??

    • I have checked the forum software documentation, and found the complete syntax for this. It is:

      [_url=href_]some text here[_/url_]

      Using this format, it is possible to list long links, without the actual URL been inside the text. Makes for easier reading. If the user wishes to copy the URL, then right-mouse and "copy shortcut" (for my browser) is sufficient.

      An example in use: See http://www.sdn.sap.com">SDN for the fastest growing website in SAP-land.
