How can I do business process modeling in Netweaver
based on BPEL ? Is there a BPEL processor already
available, and if so, in which NetWeaver component (XI ?) ?
Is BPEL processing relevant for xApps and/ or the CAF ?
thanks,
Matthias
Hello Matthias,
Yes, BPel is available in NetWeaver in the component BI. To my knowledge it is not (mainly)used for xApps or CAF. But it should be possible to integrate that stuff.

Hallo,
Cross Component Business Process Management is a part of NetWeaver that is actually situated in XI, but it is also integrated with the WebFlow Engine in R/3.
Where WebFlow Engine is aimed towards people interaction, BPM in XI is aimed towards complex business processes without human interaction.
However both techniques can be combined, that means, you can send a message for further processing from a Workflow to XI and you can send a message from a XI Business Process to a Workflow and therefore you can really create cross system business processes.
For further information refer to the XI 3.0 documentation that gives information on BPM within XI or to various documents about BPM, you can find in the Exchange Infrastructure Documents part of the SDN, e.g. the document Cross-Component Business Process Management - SP XI 3.0
best regards
Christine
