Suppose when you receive only delivery challan for goods receipt without excise invoice, then you refer only part 1

in excise tab of migo, later after receiving invoice, you can post part 2 using J1IEX(Capture -->Goods Receipt) with

reference to material document.

RG23A Part 1 - Raw material qty,RG23A Part 2 - Raw material Excise values

RG23C Part 1 - Capital goods/assets,RG23C Part 2 - Capitial goods excise values

Since asset is account assigned - 'A' in p.o,on goods receipt,2 entries will hit table one for 'Receipt',other for 'Issue'

RG23C Part 2 - 50% credit of excise values another 50% put on hold taken credit in next year

Hi

When you procure raw materials or capital goods for that company has to pay the excise amount to respective department, for that in system its having registers to update, for Raw material RG23A and For Capital RG23C.

Part I means its the updation of respective materials with Quantity amd in Part II both Quantity and excise value will get updated in the registers with respect to excise Number.

Hi,

PART 1 is capturing qty & PART 2 is capturing the values which have been entered in PO.

U can do both in MIGO or u can capture qty in MIGO & then capture the values in J1IEX.

Hi,

Part1 is "capturing excise invoice" only. This can be done thro' MIGO. This can also be done in J1IEX.

When doing part1, only quantities will be updated in RG23A or RG23C register as the case may be.

Part2 is posting the excise invoice which can also be done in both MIGO and J1IEX. In MIGO, the option for this is "Capture & Post excise invoice". After part2 posting only, RG23A or C register will be updated with values. Only then, the credit can be availed.

Hi Siva,

you said "This can be done thro' MIGO. This can also be done in J1IEX." if I want to do in J1IEX, den what should i put in excise invoice tab of MIGO.Should i make it part I - den save it - capture in J1IEX wrt the GR number ..Am I correct??

Hi,

You are right.

In GR, Part1 to be selected and J1IEX to be done with ref. to GR no. providing, Excise invoice no. & date.

But, please be noted that in this case, even "Capture Excise Invoice" in J1IEX will create part2 posting also.

Hi,

Yes.

The captured excise invoice details will be there in MIGO.

In header data of "excise invoice" tab, click on "More Data" icon and if there is a "Part2" tab, it means that part2 is posted.

You can also check the "status" in "Miscellaneous" tab to know the current status of the excise invoice like "Posted", "Cancelled", "In process".

If it is "In process" it means part2 is not yet posted (or) GR is cancelled after part2 posting.

Regards,

Siva
