Licensing question

Good morning everyone:

We are currently looking for a SOA integration platform and we've found in netweaver a great tool for this purpose.

As a part of our evaluation, we need to know the licensing issues for this project and I would like to know this things if anyone can help me (please):

1. We'll build the application in microsoft .net, so I think we'll have to buy a license for each developer that connects to the SAP system right?

2. When executing the project, this will run on a web site (running on IIS on Windows) and it will open a SAP connection every time a client needs it, so I should buy a license for the server? for each client? for each connection?

If anyone knows the answer or can point me to the SAP licensing terms on this particular issues I'll thank you a lot.

For licensing details, you should contact your SAP account manager.

Thanks

You should definitely contact your account manager to get access to your price list, but don't count on your account manager being able to help you truly optimize your license purchases. Afterall, they get paid when you buy, not when you don't. It's equally important to discuss your purchase proposals with your procurement manager and a licensing expert. If you or your procurement manager does not have a licensing expert on tap you should do a favor for both of you and find one to work with from time to time. On that matter, be skeptical if you meet someone in your org who says they are an expert at license optimization if that org that does not regularly do licensing consulting. True experts are actually quite hard to come by. Cheers.

I believe you will get accurate answers for these questions from your SAP account Manager.
