Regarding migration of data using LSWM

I am transferring data from a .txt file which is located in a physical memory ie. harddisk for this i am using batch input as my object type.

I just need to transfer the data from this file.

In the change object attribute under standard batch/direct input object i have used Object '0050(Customer Master)

and program name 'RFBIED00'

Till "Read Data" step is not giving any errors but while converting the data it is throwing an errror

"Type C can be allowed with value upto 1 byte "

It is throwing a syntex error at some line no.,

can anyone tell me what would be the cause of this error .

I have defined the fields say a,b,c with type C,N,N in "Maintain source fields" and also mention there size,

in .txt file i am taking care of all this.

It is perfectly reading the data from the file and displaying it but once i execute the convert data step using ctrl+f8 ,it throws an error .

No error was accounted before covert data step.

Waiting for someones reply,i have just started with LSWM and i think it is something very basic i am asking.

Thanks

As to my knowledge you can't mention any other data type than 'C' for your source fields.

If the error occurs the step of convert data, you'd better go to the step of "display conversion program" and press the 'Check' button to check the program. The conversion program is made up by the content of field mapping, if the error found, you should check the step of "field mapping and conversion rule".
