User Management Administration Console

Hi All,

I am using the ramp-up version of WAS 6.40(SP4). I am trying to run the User Management Administration Console directly on the WAS using the address:

http://<J2EE_Engine_Server>:<J2EE_Engine_port>/useradmin

The service starts, but I appear to be in a display view of the current user profile. (I can also go into modify view, but I can only modify that current user.) Also of note, the navigation pane on the left hand side of the window is blank.

According to the documentation, I should be able to create new users, create and maintain roles, etc from this view, but I see no way to get there.

Any Idea?

Thanks and Regards,

Sam Mathew

Hi Sam,

the user you used for UM Admin Console login probably doesn't have the necessary authorizations to manage users. Then you are not able to change anything except the logged in user account.

There are some predefined actions for user management starting with "UME." you should try to assign to the role(s) of the actual user.

Hope that helps.

Best regards

Hi Stefan,

Do you have any idea which all roles has to be mapped to the user id for this ?

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Sam,

since i have currently no system available, i "recall" this from "my own memory": There should be an action "UME.ManageAll". If you assign this to current user's role (or create a new role with this action assigned and add it to the user's profile), it should work.

Hope that helps anyway.

Best regards

Stefan
